Places the repeating pattern on the specified shape, creating a custom stroke.
Pattern Stretching
Section titled “Pattern Stretching”Place Along
Section titled “Place Along”The pattern is placed along the shape as is, without any deformations. It will be rotated to match the angle of the shape, but it will not be stretched. The spacing between pattern repetitions will increase the gaps between pattern instances.
Stretch To Fit
Section titled “Stretch To Fit”The pattern is stretched to fit the shape as tightly as possible. Spacing will not leave gaps between pattern instances.
Pattern Alignment

Section titled “Center”The pattern is centered on the shape.
Outside
Section titled “Outside”The pattern is aligned to the outside of the shape. The center of the pattern will be placed at a distance of half of the pattern size from the shape.
Inside
Section titled “Inside”The pattern is aligned to the inside of the shape. The center of the pattern will be placed at a distance of half of the pattern size from the shape.

The stretching mode of the pattern, determining how the pattern is placed.
